
Depth Psychology is a therapeutic approach that centers on the soul and the unconscious motivations of the psyche. Depth psychotherapy incorporates a nuanced approach to therapy with a keen awareness of the power of the unconscious and transpersonal aspects of the human experience within the context of the individual soul in relationship with the collective soul and the soul of the world.
Yoga does not shy away from seeking union with the numinous, and this union brings a spiritual dimension to therapy that is profoundly supportive. Yoga therapy brilliantly companions depth psychotherapy for a more embodied and holistic approach to therapy.
As a supervisor, I strive to empower the supervisee or intern to find her/his own unique approach to providing therapy. I emphasize strong self-care practices and healthy boundaries to allow sustainability in a field plagued by burn out.
In a group therapy setting we go to the places of water to find our own wild through movement, writing, art, and yoga in and around the water.
